About
Pewsey Velo Cycling Club is based in Pewsey Wiltshire, riding on the fantastic roads of the Vale of Pewsey. We are a diverse group of riders ranging from novice to seasoned riders and even a few competition riders, but at the heart of the club is a love of road cycling.
Pewsey Velo Cycling Club is a friendly club and welcomes all new riders. We typically hold two club rides every week during summer months and one in the winter, although our members will often arrange informal rides via our Strava, WhatsApp and Facebook groups. All rides start from on the high street in Pewsey at the junction for the Co-op. There will be a nominated ride leader each week to ensure the safety of the group.
Wednesday night summer rides are typically our training sessions and tend to be faster, these are aimed towards the more experienced group riders. Rides start at 6pm and usually last for 1-1.5 hours, covering anywhere from 35 – 50km. The pace will typically vary from 25 - 35kph, depending on the route.
Saturday morning rides are more social and open to all skill levels. These rides start at 8am, typically last 2-3 hours and cover anywhere from 75 – 105km. The pace will vary from 20-32 kph, depending on the route and group ability. Ultimately these rides are social with no rider left behind, these will usually include a stop for coffee and cake.
The club exists for all levels of riders and to promote cycling. New cyclists are always welcome – enthusiasm is the most important factor so don’t worry about your ability, the club is here to help you get better.
